Update

Following the current BC Health Orders, our meetings are still virtual until further notice. You can still join us, virtually, though! Follow the link below under How do I register.

Membership:

We look forward to, one day soon, being able to offer our more than 20 regular activities again.  NCGV membership also offers:

  • access to our membership roster, offering opportunities for our approximately 200 members to maintain contact with each other or strike up new friendships
  • our regular BuddyUp email newsletter where members can suggest COVID-appropriate opportunities to forge new connections: e.g., a virtual luncheon or neighbourhood coffee group, a physically distanced beach walk, virtual Scrabble
  • our Blog Page on the website for snippets and pictures of past events

In lieu of our monthly face-to-face luncheons, we are now sharing Zoom meetups with interesting speakers so that we can still stimulate the wonderful interactions and spirited conversations amongst our fellow Newcomers. Watch the calendar!

It would be great to have you join us!

What members say about the club.

“I have enjoyed getting to know Victoria better, and all of the wonderful friendships that I have made with Newcomers Club of Greater Victoria over the last 4 years.”

“I will treasure the friends that I have made through this dynamic and fun organization!”

“It’s a terrific way for newcomers to get a feel for the city and to meet up with new people.  It’s amazing how many of these connections lead to other opportunities.”

“I have learned a lot about my new home town and made lasting friendships.”

    Why Join?

Each year, our 150+ members have access to monthly full membership get-togethers (virtual at the time due to COVID-19) and participate in a wide range of more than 20 activities and interest groups plus more ad-hoc games, walks, swims, social or hobbyists ideas initiated from our regular BuddyUp bailout. All activities are open to members, some welcome partners; some are daytime activities and others run during the evening hours.  You can read more about our activities here.

A password-protected, members-only website provides up-to-date, detailed information about NCGV events and activities, NCGV news items and the membership roster.

New members receive a personalized nametag and an invitation to a New Members’ Tea/Coffee Morning which provides an orientation to NCGV.

Before joining, prospective members can attend one session of one activity (paying any cost required).
